What an amazing turnout on a frigid night! This was the Fourth annual celebration of the Arts Education Initiative. 55 Cape Cod artists display a wide variety of thematically related works, to highlight some of the infinite ways in which artists approach the creative process using a variety of different media. This event is with Children in mind to confirm the… importance of arts education at all stages of growth.
The food was amazing and the artwork was fabulous. So remember, this was just the first night, invitation only. The event continues to run Jan 8, 2010- Feb 6th 10-5 and it is completely FREE.
Keeping younger arts patrons in mind, art work will be displayed at a height of 4 feet throughout the exhibit — right at children’s eye level. A special mini-art library will be made available to all visitors, and a series of child-friendly events will be scheduled over the course of the exhibit. School groups will be welcomed to the exhibit for free for the duration of the show, and will be given docent-led tours and art instruction customized to the age of the children.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. For information about the exhibit, the artists being featured, and opportunities for school groups to visit the exhibit, please call the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod at 508-362-0066 or visit www.artsfoundation.org.
